I loved this job!! I had always wanted to host a game show and my dream was a reality! I shot two seasons in Philadelphia at a converted IMAX Theatre. Nickelodeon was a fledgling network. Not many people were watching yet because it was not available all over the country and you had to pay extra for it. Marc Summers (Double Dare) and I were their two big hosts. Marc was always so gracious when our paths crossed. I am a huge fan of his current show Unwrapped on The Food Network.

The show was a huge hit!!!  Fox Network bought it and started showing promos of the show with me hosting. But I couldn’t get anyone on the phone to tell me when we were shooting the new shows. Finally I got one of the assistants on the phone and I was told I was being replaced because they were looking for a younger host. This was a hard pill to swallow!  Showbiz “ain’t” for the delicate of heart!

The only slight joy I had was that this highly successful Nickelodeon show only lasted one short run without me! “Bitter...party of one?!!!” Okay, I have to say Larry Toffler did a nice job replacing me...
